Cutest Photo & Video Booth EVER

First of all, I love photo and video booths. I confess.  Every single wedding I jump into it at least 3 times.  You know, "quality control".
Second, guests love them.  Its better than it was at your Bat Mitzvah or Sweet Sixteen because we're all adults now and know how to have real fun (like kiss our boyfriends and show off our fancy martini while wearing a mustache).
Oh, and photo booths aren't just for photos anymore. OH NO YOU DIDN'T {in my best Franc impersonation voice}.  You know how I feel about video.  They have video too - photo/video booths.  Yes, scream in delight at the thought of hilarious messages you'll be getting after the, um, the celebrating has commenced.
And now folks- my reason for this post, may I introduce Bash Booths!
Holy Cannoli if this isn't the most adorable wedding booth I have ever seen. Could you just die?  I want to put in my studio.  I'd never get any planning done though, so that's not happening.
You can get more info on the Bash Booths website or if you're one of my clients who suddenly changed your mind about a photo booth (please?) You can just call me. I have the number on speed dial as of right now.

Your reception before the sun goes down

When designing your reception space:
If your ceremony is more than 1 and a half hours prior to sunset you'll want to consider what your reception space will look like during daylight and twilight.

Lighting changes how everything looks, in particular the colors of your flowers and your linens.

Quick tip: When you are scouting locations for your wedding, visit during the day and evening so you can see what you'll be designing around and what lighting you will have to bring in!

13 wedding planning tips worth considering

From my perspective a little savvy can go a very long way.  Here are a few tips that you can use while planning your wedding. Keep in mind that there are exceptions to every rule, and usually for good reason. So- these aren't rules. Just a few things to at least consider.
1. Read all of your contracts thoroughly and make sure they state everything you expect and what is expected of you. “Oh, you didn’t want the Macarena?” Yeah, that happens.

2. Lesson learned: Don’t give your guests sparklers before they leave the building. Enough said.
3. Find quality vendors on referral lists, magazine editorials and blogs. The names you see & hear repeatedly are typically the best ones. But its imperative you do your research- ask actual people. You can't believe everything you read.
4. Make every effort to build a relationship with your professionals. For this reason I highly suggest that you hire people you like. Gosh, why would you hire someone you don't like?
5. Plan for the experience you want and then plan the details that will make the experience come to life. As much as we all love the cutie drink stirrers, you’ll need a cocktail hour planned first.
6. Use your downtime wisely. Once you have contracts in place, work on items that don’t require a guest count. There’s no reason why you can’t pick out your music, hair and makeup 6 months before the wedding. So long last minute stress.
7. Address and stamp your thank you notes as you receive your rsvps, this way when you return from your honeymoon all you’ll have to do is write the note! There is no excuse for not writing a thank you note. Ever.

8. For goodness sakes let those who are documenting your wedding in on the surprises. Your priest doing the Irish Jig at your reception? Kind of a great thing to get on video. I will say this until my face turns blue and blue is not my best color.
9. Make sure all your vendors know who they are working with. A simple email with a list goes a long way. You would be amazed by how much goes on behind the scenes and how much more gets accomplished when your pros are working together.
10. Get video. You cannot see yourself walk down the aisle and you’ll never hear your dads toast again if you don’t.  #1 thing I get thanked for post wedding (telling my clients that video is more important to you than you think & not to skip it).
11. Consider what you liked and didn’t like about weddings you’ve attended and tell your vendors these things. It will save you both time and frustration. Nobodys offended if you don't like Hydrangeas. Especially Madonna.
12. Take professional advice into consideration, but don’t get talked into things you don’t want.
13. If planning anything outdoors, have a solid contingency plans! Not just for rain; plan for heat, cold and wind too. Escort cards love to blow away.

Wedding Chatter (or not)

How well do you know your wedding party? For my birthday I got a funny book of questions and I was so surprised by some of the answers my friends gave.  I thought this would also be a fun wedding party or shower game particularly in a luncheon or dinner party atmosphere.  Particularly because it isn't just about the wedding.  There's a good reason I recommend non-wedding chatter around your bridesmaids every now and again:  THEY GET SICK OF IT.

For the next few weeks we will post a few "getting to know you questions".  We will post our answers and you can comment with your answers.

1.  What would you rather ride on: a ferris wheel or a roller coaster?
     - Kelly, Alyssa, Angela and Gina: Roller coaster
     - Randi: Ferris Wheel
Kelly said, "You couldn't pay me enough to get on one of those things."

2.  If asked if you get get your best ideas in the shower, your answer would be: I do, I never do, every once in a while:
   -  Kelly, Alyssa and Gina: I never do
   -  Randi & Angela: Every once in a while
Gina says, "I get my best ideas while driving."
Angela says, "I get mine while daydreaming."

3.  What's your shoe size?
     - Kelly: 8 1/2 on my left, 8 on my right
     - Alyssa: 7 1/2
    -  Randi: 8 1/2
     - Angela & Gina: 7

Let us know your answers to these fun questions! If you're on twitter, we're going to post one of the questions on there as well- follow @weddingtidbits to get the twitter get to know you question of the week hashtag #GetToKnow
